N&R Needham Co. Ltd. offer precision machining of components to micron tolerances to fulfil customer requirements using a varied selection of CNC and conventional machinery and inspection equipment. CNC TURNING CENTRES
Eight CNC Turning Centres, three with capacity up to 900mm diameter by 2000mm long, two of these have hydraulic steadies.
CNC MACHINING CENTRES
Seven CNC machining centres with up to 3000mm by 800mm travel some with up to five axes.
CNC HORIZONTAL MACHINING CENTRES
Twin pallet with up to 1640mm cubed machining envelope. With fully contouring B axis and through spindle coolant. Alternatively our three metre five axis machine can accommodate a longer component.
CENTRE LATHE
A large centre lathe with D.R.O. further complements the C.N.C. turning centres. It has capacity up to 850mm diameter by 3000mm between centres.
MILLING AND DRILLING
Varied conventional equipment enhances our capacity including pedestal and radial arm drilling, grinding equipment, horizontal and vertical milling.
SLOTTING
Taper and parallel slotting is achieved on components up to 1000mm diameter. The machine has 380mm stroke.
GEAR PLANING AND SHAPEING (including internal splining)
Gear cutting up to 950mm diameter. Internal splines on shafts can be cut with a maximum shaft length of 1000mm long.
FABRICATION
Mig and arc welding are available on site, with fitting and assembly within our capacity.
INSPECTION
New CMM installed Autumn 2016. The new temperature controlled inspection area houses a large CNC CMM fitted with a Renishaw PH20 motorised infinite indexing probe head and Renishaw 0.0001 mm encoders for superior accuracy. Measuring capacity as follows; X1200. Y3000. Z1000. mm.
Our inspection equipment also includes Trimos digital height measuring equipment and a vast array of conventional measuring instruments. Externally calibrated standards allow us to ensure that we are working to UKAS standards on all our measuring equipment. We are an ISO 9001 : 2008 quality approved company.
